The long run west from the forks
From the South Fork, follow Montauk Highway (NY 27) out of East Hampton and County Road 39 past Southampton, then stay on Sunrise Highway west for roughly 56 miles into Massapequa.
From the North Fork, the quickest route follows Route 25 and County Road 48 (Middle Road, then Sound Avenue) to Riverhead, then Northville Turnpike and County Road 51 south to Sunrise Highway and west. The Long Island Expressway is the alternative.
